Friends - The perfect Present

My friends organized a trip to Bruges for my birthday last year. And even though it was not exactly on my Birthday, the day with my friends was the best present ever. We went to see the Ice Statue festival and wandered around the center of town. I had the greatest time

First LO

Journaling:

All of you took me out to Bruges for my 29th

It was your Idea and one, if not THE greatest Birthday present of
my Life!

Best Man, Best Friend, Best Fiancé

I took this picture right before the ceremony in which my DF was Best Man.
Handsome isn't he? And all mine

Wordart:
“You are one of the Best Things
that's ever happened to me.
You're my Love and my Best Friend.
And every Day that goes by, it seems like
I discover something new about You to Love.
It's incredible to me how one person can make such
a big difference in my Life.
You touch my Heart in a way
I never knew before.”

Journaling:
Ken, May 31 2008 - Best Man for the Eppings at the SHAPE Chapel, Belgium

You looked great during the Ceremony
and all I could think of while
snapping Pictures was
how great we will look together at our Wedding...

Petzi

I created this LO for my step dad.
He's been in my life as far as I can think back and I hope he will be in it as far as I can think ahead!

Journaling:
"Your real name is Dieter, but no
one ever calls you by it.
You've been Petzi for all my Life,
through the good times and the
bad. We did not always see eye to
eye, but you always looked out for
me, protected me when needed, but
let me fight my own battles.
You've been my step father since I
was 3 1/2 years old, and you will
always be my Dad. I love you!"

I blended the background with a solid color and used a coffee stain brush on it.
The notepad was made by me.

Harpers Ferry

We visited Harpers Ferry during our visit of my future parents in law. It was pretty! Too bad we didn't have all that much time to explore...

Scraplifted from Wadi as Sahtan by sands_healy at DSP.

Journaling:
"Harpers Ferry is a historic town in Jefferson County, West Virginia. It is
situated at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers where the U.S.
states of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia meet. The town is located on a
low lying flood plain created by the two rivers, it is thus surrounded by higher
ground on all sides.
Historically, Harpers Ferry is best known for John
Brown's raid on the Armory in 1859 and its role in the American Civil War.
The town had a population of 307."

"Dec 27 2007
We had a great
Day in Harpers Ferry.
It started out cloudy and drizzly, but then
the
Sun came out.
It made the place glow"

Dance in the Rain

This 2 page spread was prompted by Meryl's Heritage Challenge "The Story of a Thing you love." It is doing double duty with the June DET Font Challenge. (Both on DSP)
Seems like Scrap Happy might be one of my new favorite fonts ;)
I tried to keep it clean and simple for a change, just like my love for Rain.

Journaling:
" Rain. I always loved Rain.
I love the noise it makes, so soothing.
I love its smell, be it Spring or Fall.
I love the way it blankets you inside,
washing away all worries, everything reduced to one drop after another.
I remember all the different Rains of my Life...
Rainy walks to school, breathing in deeply,
sitting in the back seat of my mom's car watching the
Rain drip down the window,
laying in the Caravan listening to the Rain Drops
falling on the roof.
Rain, never failing to remind me of the Beauty in my
Life. "

"Anyone who says only Sunshine brings Happiness
has never danced in the Rain"

Purple

This is what I came up with for Round 1 of NKOTB 12 at DSP while using the Welcome Kit and Freebies.
The pictures were taken in my backyard on a frosty spring morning.

I recolored everything
I used one of the Welcome Kits background with flowers and stacked it on top of each other, used another freebie background for the embossed looking circles and another to get the flowery texture and the overall coloring.

Poem:

Purple is the color of the midnight rain,
it is my sadness and my pain.
Purple is the spirit of the moonlit sky,
it is the darkness you see in my eyes. [...]

My Girls

Here is my Round 3 NKOTB LO from DSP.

I dedicated it to my girls. Some of them are near, some of them are far, but all of them are always close to my heart.

Journaling:

"My Girls are my everything.
They are my conscience, my personal Pep Squad,
my reason, my joy, my reinforcement, my fun.
They pick me up when I fall, know who I really
am, see the Tears I never cried and never judge me.

Without them I am nothing."

"Andrea B.
Anne M..
Andrea S.
Airynne F.
Britta L.
Petra G."

The background is a blend of 2 background papers from the Mandee Kit and 2 from the Stiched N Sparkle Kit.

I embossed the swirlie border from Mandee and also the bling border from Stitched N Sparkle.

All the big text has drop shadows, an inner glow and is embossed.

Summer Vacations

I had a hard time putting this LO together and I am far, far from happy with it.
I will put it on the "to work on later" list.

These are pictures my mother took of me and my brother in Seignosse Le Penon, France, in July 1982.
I was just learning to swim (with the helpers) and my brother was still too small to be the annyoing person he would turn into soon.
Our parents used to drive down to France every summer for 3 weeks, take a big house or two with all their friends, including families if they existed, and just relax.
Happy Times.

I used the kit made by our lovely wuvie! (changed the background color though to match the LO)

Addicted to Quotes

I am addicted to Quotes, Sayings and Icons.
I don't really display them anywhere, not even on my Myspace, but I sure enjoy hoarding them and having a private laugh over them.
They are funny, bold, brutally honest.
