Purple

This is what I came up with for Round 1 of NKOTB 12 at DSP while using the Welcome Kit and Freebies.
The pictures were taken in my backyard on a frosty spring morning.

I recolored everything
I used one of the Welcome Kits background with flowers and stacked it on top of each other, used another freebie background for the embossed looking circles and another to get the flowery texture and the overall coloring.

Poem:

Purple is the color of the midnight rain,
it is my sadness and my pain.
Purple is the spirit of the moonlit sky,
it is the darkness you see in my eyes. [...]

Kelly Curiel "Purple"

My Girls

Here is my Round 3 NKOTB LO from DSP.

I dedicated it to my girls. Some of them are near, some of them are far, but all of them are always close to my heart.

Journaling:

"My Girls are my everything.
They are my conscience, my personal Pep Squad,
my reason, my joy, my reinforcement, my fun.
They pick me up when I fall, know who I really
am, see the Tears I never cried and never judge me.

Without them I am nothing."

"Andrea B.
Anne M..
Andrea S.
Airynne F.
Britta L.
Petra G."

The background is a blend of 2 background papers from the Mandee Kit and 2 from the Stiched N Sparkle Kit.

I embossed the swirlie border from Mandee and also the bling border from Stitched N Sparkle.

All the big text has drop shadows, an inner glow and is embossed.

Summer Vacations

I had a hard time putting this LO together and I am far, far from happy with it.
I will put it on the "to work on later" list.

These are pictures my mother took of me and my brother in Seignosse Le Penon, France, in July 1982.
I was just learning to swim (with the helpers) and my brother was still too small to be the annyoing person he would turn into soon.
Our parents used to drive down to France every summer for 3 weeks, take a big house or two with all their friends, including families if they existed, and just relax.
Happy Times.

I used the kit made by our lovely wuvie! (changed the background color though to match the LO)

Addicted to Quotes

I am addicted to Quotes, Sayings and Icons.
I don't really display them anywhere, not even on my Myspace, but I sure enjoy hoarding them and having a private laugh over them.
They are funny, bold, brutally honest.

Tinkerbell

This is a 2 page spread about my kitty Tinkerbell.

Journaling reads:
"Tink has been with me since November 2004.
The day Andrea and I went to the
shelter, I was looking for a kitten.
Little did I know that by
the end of
the day I would have fallen in Love
with a purrdy kitty of unknown age and
name.
They guesstimated your age between 3 and 4 years.
I didn’t care. All
night I worried
and was afraid that the couple after us
had taken you with
them.
The next day I brought you home.
No Regrets.
Ever."

You will always Shine

I made this for a contest on GDS, kit provided.

I took this picture of my friend Anne during a trip we took around the first of May to see my parents in Germany. (All the little pictures in the star border are from different occasion in the last year)
Wherever Anne goes, she brightens everyone's day.

Journaling reads:
"May 1 2008
I had promised you the trip for a long time,
and finally we
did visit my parents back home.
I had a great time with you in
Germany!
Hopefully we can do it again soon! Love ya!!!!"

White Easter 2008

We had a nice White Easter this year ;)

Journaling reads:
You would think Easter is Spring time here in Belgium... But not this
Year!
Easter 2008 we had "White Easter" and Ken and I enjoyed it so much, we
spent a long
time outside watching the Snow fall...

Heartbreakers

My god child and his big bro, my little heartbreakers!
This was inspired by an add I saw in Glamour
http://i27.tinypic.com/21c85zl.jpg
by Bride.Com.
I liked it for it's simplicity and clear lines.
Since I am normally someone that has to fill every inch of each page, it was a challenge
And I just couldn't stick with it either

Convertible Fun!

This LO was made for Round 3 in the NKOTB 12 constest on DSP.

I used the rule of three and tried to place the pictures on cross points on the grid.
I used Time Trials by pinky7 on DSP as a starting point.

Journaling:
May 11 2008
Ken and I were finally able to take the convertible out for a spin with the top down.
After all the weeks the car was in the shop, it was a real treat!!!

Spring is here

This was made for a contest on godigitalscrapbooking.com, kit provided.

I had to go out in the sun and take a picture that fit the colors though. ;)
I extracted the word art from the can cap and recolored it.

And here you have it, me outside in the yard on a sunny Belgian day.

Journaling:Sunny Spring Days don't come around too often in Belgium,so I tend to enjoy them to thefullest! Outside, in the Sun, inthe Yard. This sunny Days just needs a BBQ to be perfect!!!

Anne's Birthday

Homework 1 for DSU 221.

This LO pictures my best friend Anne on her birthday on May 5.
I merged two pictures together, used a layer to get the border with loads of filters and some brushing.
I also used layers to add texture/pattern to the text and added a stroke on the outside.
I like it ;) Maybe I'll mirror the page and add a collage of all the other pictures we took and some journaling to it!

LOTRO - Rivendell

This was prompted by the Bootcamp Challenge and Erica's new Oh! My Word Challenge at DSP.
Grungy and my favorite Videogame.
Lord of the Rings Online!

My favorite Place in Game is Rivendell, absolutely beautiful!
I used in game screenshots of Rivendell at 3 different times of day/night and a screenshot from the in game map.

Background is the Cardboard Paper from Shiny Glam, which I also used as an overlay (all bright places deleted) with drop shadow and embossment to grunge it up. The frame is also from Shiny Glam and I just flipped it.
I also extended the border of the Rivendell map to frame the whole LO and extracted the "Rivendell" part of it to enhance it's contrast and make it pop.

Somehow, this screams for a second page with journaling on how I came to Rivendell the first time in game.... and the touristy shots I took of my character with Aragorn, Gandalf, Elrond, Boromir and Glorfindel

Text:
"... we've been far and seen a deal, and yet I don't think we've found a better place than this. There's something of everything here, if you understand me: the Shire and the Golden Wood and Gondor and kings' houses and inns and meadows and mountains all mixed."
Sam Gamgee, The Return of the King: "Many Meetings," p. 265
