Ella Riding

Journaling:
"Danna brought Ella and her 4- Wheeler over to our house because our yard is way big.
She had such a great time riding in circles, while Danna tried to keep her out of our rose bush :) "

Bend and Change

This picture of my friend Airynne was sepia toned when I scanned it in, so I spent some time to selectively tint it and then flatten it
After copying it to the layout, I set the layer to lighten and masked unwanted parts. then I duplicated and set it to darken, again masking unwanted parts and adjusted opacity to my liking.

I then used one of the gorgeous papery from the Passages kit as the background. I copied the part of it that contained the butterfly and blended it in on top.
I also used the swirly frame behind the picture to highlight it some more.

Text:
"Butterflies bend with the wind, it's true.
Still they get where they want to go.
They arrive by persistence through their own insistence...
A lesson more people should know."

First Birthday

My friends daughter celebrated her first birthday last month - with a butterfly theme!
All her little friends came to party and play, there was oodles of food and loads of presents, but nothing as important as the birthday girl and her parents!

Made this for a challenge at Scraporchard, but sadly did not make it into Round 2 :)

Flower Grenade

Bouquet Toss / Flower Grenade on my Wedding Day - Aug 27 2008.

Journaling:
"Tossing the Flower Grenade is the one Fun tradition in which the Bride gets to torture all her single female Friends.
In this case all my Girls conveniently side stepped, jumped away or ducked like someone had screamed
“INCOMING!”.
All besides Britta, my Bridesmaid, who got stuck with the Bouquet "

I changed the rotated, resized and adjusted the photomats of the template to fit my pictures and enlarged the cluster on the right page to emphasize my favorite picture a bit more.
The background is a blend of 2 papers. One for the texture, and another for the color.
The tabs got a solid color and a faded pattern that came with PS CS 3.
I also added a white stroke to the bouquet element to make it look like a paper ornament.

Come what may...

I loved the wordart that came with the Come what may kit and I finally got to finish a double page for my wedding album!

Journaling:
"Our Wedding Day went by in a blur. Everything seemed a whirlwind, even when we were waiting. It seemed so unreal that the Day was finally there. Just a year ago, who would have thought it would happen? Who but us did believe we were meant for each other? It really is true, as corny as it sounds: You just know if it is the right one, the person you want to spend the rest of your Life with. There is no test, no conditions, no list of attributes. Just the knowledge that yes, this is the one for me."

"During the Ceremony the registrar told us a story, about a mother and a daughter and the advice that the mother passed on about marriage. The mother had her daughter take two hands full of sand, and close on as hard as she could while cupping the other one. The hand that was clenched, lost all the sand, while the cupped one retained it."

"May you cherish these moments
For all of your life
As you step out together
As man and wife.
May the vows that you've taken
Remain true and strong
As you start on life's highway
And journey along."

But she still managed to laugh, smile and be happy.
